Mixed media painting of a crouching male figure on canvas. I have used a variety of materials in this paintings to achieve a highly textured and unique foundation. The surface was then painted using acrylic paint.

I am interested in reworking classical figure styles in alternative media. Here, the academic style of painting, with perfectly smooth surfaces, dark backgrounds and strong shadows has been adapted with the three-dimensional nature of the paint.

The edges of this canvas are painted so it does not need a frame.
